Red Chile Stew

Ingredients

  • 3 dried red chiles — more or less depending on taste
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 pounds pork top loin — cut into pieces
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • salt — optional

Method

  1. Wash hands with soap and water.
  2. Wash chilies, removing stems and seeds.
  3. Place in blender with 1 cup water and blend into paste Brown pork lightly in non-stick skillet.
  4. Add the chili paste and mix well, adding water if mixture is too thick.
  5. Add oregano and garlic powder.
  6. Cover and simmer slowly for one hour.
