Applesauce Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) margarine — or butter or shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 cups applesauce, unsweetened
  • 1 cup raisins
  • nuts — 1 cup, optional

Method

  1. For Cookies: Drop dough by heaping teaspoon several inches apart on a greased baking sheet.
  2. Bake at 350 °F for 10 to 12 minutes.
  3. For Cake: Bake at 350 °F in an 8x8 inch pan for 40 minutes.
