Slow Cooker Cabbage and Sausage

Ingredients
- 1½ lb (700 g) smoked sausage or kielbasa, sliced
- 1 medium head green cabbage, chopped
- 1½ lb (700 g) baby potatoes, halved
- 3 carrots, sliced
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 cups chicken or beef broth
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 bay leaf
Method
- Layer the potatoes, carrots, onion, and cabbage in the bottom of a slow cooker.
- Add the sliced sausage on top and sprinkle with garlic.
- Mix the broth, melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, thyme, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, then pour over the vegetables and sausage.
- Tuck the bay leaf into the mixture.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the vegetables are tender.
- Remove the bay leaf before serving.
