Oreo Fudge

Ingredients

  • 13 chocolate sandwich cookies, such as Oreos (about 5 oz.)
  • 1 (14-oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 3 c. white chocolate chips (about 18 oz.)
  • 1 tbsp. salted butter
  • 2 tsp. vanilla bean paste or vanilla extract

Method

  1. Line an 8x8 or 9x9-inch baking dish with foil or parchment, leaving an overhang on the sides for lifting later.
  2. Crush the cookies in a zip-top bag using a rolling pin. Set aside 1/2 cup coarsely crushed cookies for topping, and finely crush the rest.
  3. Combine the sweetened condensed milk, white chocolate chips, butter, and vanilla in a heatproof bowl over simmering water. Stir until melted and smooth, about 5 minutes.
  4. Stir the finely crushed cookies into the melted mixture, then spread evenly into the prepared pan.
  5. Scatter the reserved coarsely crushed cookies over the top, pressing gently to adhere.
  6. Refrigerate for about 2 hours until firm, then lift out using the foil overhang and cut into 16 squares.
