Homemade Wonton Soup

Ingredients
- 60 wonton wrappers
- 1/2 lb ground pork
- 1 tbsp chopped onion
- 1/2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1/2 tbsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- Optional: shrimp + a little flour for binding
- 1/2 tbsp oil
- 1/2 onion, diced
- Ginger slices
- 4 cups chicken broth
- Soy sauce to taste
- Baby bok choy
- green onions, for garnish
- a few drops of sesame oil
Method
- Combine ground pork with chopped onion, oyster sauce, sesame oil, salt, sugar, and pepper to make the filling.
- Place a small spoonful of filling in each wonton wrapper, then fold and seal the edges with a bit of water.
- Bring a pot of water to a boil and cook the wontons for 2 to 4 minutes, until fully cooked.
- In a separate pot, heat oil and sauté diced onion and ginger slices until fragrant.
- Pour in the chicken broth and soy sauce, then bring to a boil.
- Add the cooked wontons and baby bok choy to the broth, and cook until the bok choy softens.
- Ladle into bowls and top with green onions and a few drops of sesame oil before serving.
