- 1/4 lb pasta
- 2 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded
- 2 ounces american cheese
- 1 ounce cream cheese
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/4 cup salted butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon parsley
Method
- Mix warm water, honey, yeast, bread flour, salt, garlic powder, and oil in a bowl until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth, then cover and let rest for 20 minutes.
- Cook the pasta according to package directions, then drain and set aside.
- In a pan over medium heat, melt the butter and whisk in the flour to form a paste.
- Gradually whisk in the milk and heavy cream until smooth.
- Lower the heat and simmer for about 3 minutes until thickened.
- Stir in the cheeses, salt, pepper, and paprika until melted and smooth.
- Remove from heat, add the cooked pasta, and toss to coat evenly in the cheese sauce.
- Roll the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick and cut into 5 equal strips.
- Spoon the mac and cheese filling onto one half of each strip, fold the dough over, and press the edges to seal.
- Arrange the filled breadsticks in a greased baking dish.
- Mix melted butter with garlic powder and parsley, then brush generously over the breadsticks.
- Bake at 375°F for about 20 minutes, until golden brown.
