Cinnamon Rolls with Apple Pie Filling

Ingredients
- 1 (12.4 oz) can refrigerated cinnamon rolls with icing
- 1 (21 oz) can apple pie filling, chopped into bite-sized pieces
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- Icing packet from cinnamon rolls
- 2 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 tbsp milk
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- Caramel sauce (optional topping)
- Chopped pecans (optional topping)
- Chopped walnuts (optional topping)
- Thin apple slices (garnish)
- Ground cinnamon (garnish)
- Powdered sugar (garnish)
- Fresh mint leaves (garnish)
Method
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9-inch baking dish.
- Cut each cinnamon roll into quarters. Spread half the pieces in the dish and top with half the apple pie filling, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Layer the remaining cinnamon roll pieces over the top, then add the rest of the apple filling. Drizzle melted butter over everything.
- Bake 30-35 minutes until golden and cooked through.
- While baking, whisk the icing packet with cream cheese, milk, and vanilla until smooth to make the glaze.
- Let the baked rolls cool about 5 minutes, then drizzle the cream cheese glaze over the top.
- Add pecans, walnuts, or caramel sauce if desired, then serve warm.
- Store leftovers in the fridge up to 4 days and reheat before serving.
