Cheeseburger Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups uncooked pasta (elbow macaroni or shells)
  • 1 (15 oz) can diced tomatoes, drained
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of mushroom soup
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella (optional)
  • Chopped pickles or green onions for garnish (optional)

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. Boil pasta according to package directions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and onion until browned; drain excess grease.
  4. Stir in garlic and cook about 30 seconds.
  5. Add diced tomatoes, cream of mushroom soup, milk, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt, and pepper; mix well.
  6. Stir in the cooked pasta and 1½ cups of the cheddar cheese.
  7. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and top with the remaining cheddar and the mozzarella.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes until hot and bubbly with melted cheese.
  9. Garnish with chopped pickles or green onions if desired, and serve.
