High-Protein Low-Carb Philly Cheesesteak Casserole

Ingredients
- 1½ lbs (680 g) lean ground beef or thinly sliced sirloin
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 8 oz (225 g) mushrooms, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 4 oz (115 g) low-fat cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup low-fat cottage cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 6 slices provolone cheese
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Method
- Preheat oven to 375°F and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Brown the beef, breaking it into crumbles, and drain excess fat if needed.
- Add onion, bell peppers, mushrooms, and garlic; cook 5-7 minutes until tender.
- Stir in Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Lower heat and mix in cream cheese and cottage cheese until smooth and creamy.
- Transfer mixture to the prepared baking dish, top with mozzarella, then arrange provolone slices on top.
- Bake 15-18 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Broil 2-3 minutes for a golden top, watching closely to prevent burning.
- Garnish with parsley and serve hot.
