The Pantry Butler, a product of My Media Matters LLC ("we", "us"), respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it. My Media Matters LLC is the data controller for personal information processed through the Service.
When you create an account, we store your email address (used to send you a passwordless sign-in link). We store the content you save — recipes, pantry items, shopping lists, meal plans, photos, and profile details. If you subscribe to Premium, our payment processor (Stripe) handles your card details and shares limited billing information (such as your subscription status) with us; we never see or store your full card number. We use a strictly-necessary cookie to keep you signed in, and — only with your consent — analytics and advertising cookies (see "Cookies, analytics & advertising" below).
If you opt in to auto-import, you can add the email address(es) your grocery orders come from and forward order-confirmation emails to orders@thepantrybutler.com. We store those sender addresses (to match orders to your account) and process the contents of emails you forward — using AI — to add the items to your pantry. We only process emails you choose to send us, and only to provide this feature.
We use your information to operate the service: to sign you in, save and show you your content, process your subscription, and power AI features. We send the recipe text, pantry lists, and forwarded order emails you provide to our AI provider (Anthropic) to structure recipes, sort pantry items, and answer questions. We do not sell your personal information for money. We share limited data with advertising partners as described below, which some laws treat as a "sale" or "share" — you can opt out (see "Your rights & choices").
We rely on trusted providers to run the service. Each processes only the data needed for its role, under its own privacy terms:
Some outbound links are affiliate links (see our Affiliate Disclosure); when you click one, the destination site (such as Amazon) is governed by its own privacy policy.
We use one strictly-necessary cookie to keep you signed in — this is always on and is not used for advertising.
We also use analytics and advertising cookies and pixels from Google Analytics 4 and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel. These help us understand how the site is used and measure our ads; they may set cookies and share limited event data (such as page views, sign-ups, and purchases) with Google and Meta, which can involve cross-site tracking. These load by default to measure our site and ads, but you can opt out anytime: choose "Opt out" on our cookie notice, or use the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" / cookie preferences link — we'll stop loading them for you on this browser.
We keep your account and the content you save for as long as your account is active. Sign-in links expire after 15 minutes and sessions expire after 30 days. When you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal data promptly.
The Pantry Butler is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
You can sign out anytime, edit or delete recipes and pantry items you've saved, and delete your account and associated data from your Account settings or by emailing us. You can also manage your cookie choice here: review cookie preferences.
California (CCPA/CPRA): If you're a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to access or delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We don't sell your information for money, but our use of advertising cookies (Meta/Google) may be considered "sharing." You can opt out by choosing "Opt out" on our cookie notice (or "review cookie preferences" above). We won't discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
EEA/UK (GDPR): If you're in the European Economic Area or the UK, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Our legal bases are: performing our contract with you (running your account), your consent (analytics/advertising cookies and grocery-email import), and our legitimate interests (securing and improving the service). You can withdraw consent anytime, and you may lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@thepantrybutler.com and we'll respond as required by law.
